This is a shot featuring the new name for the Cleveland Indian's home ball park. It used to be called Jacob's Field but the team sold the naming rights.....

Construction-Destruction
It seems my bus stop is scheduled for some sort of work in the next few weeks. I will have to alter my routine.

Here is Justice.
Here is a photo of the recently built Justice Center in downtown Cleveland. I will have more of this building in the weeks to come. It is a really nice structure.

"Witness" This
Here is a photo demonstrating how obsessed Cleveland is with celebrity and with sports. With all of the problems this city has, Cleveland chooses to be "witness" to games rather than urban decay, bad schools, and racial problems. This billboard takes up the entire side of a building. There is my op-ed piece for the week.

View From the Balcony
Here is a photo taken Saturday morning while I had my coffee and a cigarette. This is the view from my girlfriend's balcony. This is about 8am and it was taken in the eastern suburb of Mayfield Heights. It sort of a gloomy and cold weekend here on the south shores of Lake Erie. It was rainy and the temperatures hovered in the upper forties.
Despite that, if you enlarge the photo, you can see the trees are starting to bloom.

There Was No Pot of Gold
This is a photo from Friday evening. This is taken in Mayfield Heights which is a suburb to the east of Cleveland. I was going to my girlfriend's place.
Hope you can see the rainbow, it came out a little lighter than I had hoped.

House of "The King"
Friday, April 11, 2008
I have never been to this one....
I have actually been to the Hard Rock in New York, Niagara Falls, and Toronto but never to the one that is about six miles from home. Go figure. There are actually metal spots on the sidewalk across the street from this sign. These spots are designated "photo-op" markers where one can get the best possible shot.
I took this on my lunchtime walk yesterday.

You're Welcome Chamber of Commerce
Here is a glamor shot of the downtown skyline again. I work downtown, so I have easy access to some very nice cityscapes. The chamber of commerce should send me some accolades for making the city look nice.

Cleveland's Most Noted Feature

No, not a burning river or or a mayor with his hair on fire, but Cleveland's old gray lady. The Terminal Tower, Cleveland's most notable skyline feature.I see the tower everyday while waiting for the bus ride home. The afternoon bus stop is way more interesting than the morning's view. Today was the perfect day to get a really nice shot. We actually have had blue skies around here for a few days in a row.
I cannot wait for the city to reopen the observation deck...the shots would be outstanding from up there.

Cleveland, post #2
This is the second post of the photo-a-day challenge. This photo was taken this morning while I waited for the bus. I stand at this stop every weekday morning and this is what I see every morning. (except for when there is snow)
The guy in the left half of the photo almost midway up was loaded. He walked past me and I could smell the booze all over him. It was 6:45 in the morning. Apparently he was headed for work as well.

Cleveland, post #1
This is my first post in the Photo a Day challenge. I will introduce you to the city of Cleveland from my angle. From the usual stuff to the ultimately weird. Pop culture to sub culture.
Here's an easy city shot to get me started......this was taken from a parking lot by the Powerhouse, in the Flats. The city does actually look nice when it is all lit up at night.
I am going to really attempt this challenge, I do like the idea a lot.
